Jyväskylä - right in the middle!

The Jyväskylä Region lies at the very heart of Finland, within reasonable distance of all parts of the country. Its central location makes for easy accessibility, easy organization of goods transportation for enterprises, and easily achieved success in the movement of people, both within and across the country’s borders.

The city of Jyväskylä is ranked as having the second best location for a city in Finland. The Travel Center brings buses and trains into the heart of the city. Jyväskylä airport is located just 20 minutes from the city center, and offers a fast air connection for the whole region. There are several flights a day from Helsinki, for example, with a flight time of about 40 minutes. There are also several weekly flights from Tallinn, Estonia, offering good connections from many European locations.

Road and rail - reliable and easy

Buses and trains are a reliable, fast way of reaching the whole country and of operating within Central Finland.  Rail connections link Jyväskylä to all parts of the country, the journey from Helsinki taking about 3 hours. For both people and goods, the train is a handy means for getting around the country.

Jyväskylä forms a crossroads for Finland’s main highways, which has helped it become an increasingly important centre of road transport. Furthermore, numerous waterways are focused on the region.
