Culture that captivates
The cultural scene in Central Finland is versatile and covers everything from architecture to dance, jazz and, of course, sauna. Those with a hunger for culture will be impressed by the variety of museums and exhibitions on offer, as well as by the fabulous churches to be found.
One of the region’s best known churches is Petäjävesi Old Church, which has gained inclusion on UNESCO’s world heritage list.
World-famous architecture
Jyväskylä's favourite son, the architect Alvar Aalto, is widely regarded as one of the great innovators in western architecture. The Alvar Aalto Museum and the numerous buildings designed by Aalto constantly bring to Jyväskylä professionals and amateurs in the field of architecture from all over the world.
Home of Neste Oil Rally
Neste Oil Rally Finland is more than just a rally. It is the largest annually-staged spectator event in the Nordic countries. Neste Oil Rally Finland is oganized in beautiful Central Finland and it still is worth its legend, the Grand Prix on gravel.
